Voluntary Water Conservation Requested
Bloomington Township Public Water District purchases its water from the City of Bloomington. The City has recently issued a request for voluntary water conservation due to continued dry weather and lower-than-normal reservoir levels at Lake Bloomington and Evergreen Lake.
While the City of Bloomington’s water system is currently operating normally and no mandatory water restrictions are in place, customers are encouraged to practice common-sense conservation measures as a proactive step.
The City has indicated this request is precautionary and intended to help protect long-term water availability and system reliability during ongoing drought conditions affecting central Illinois.
Bloomington Township Public Water District will continue to monitor updates from the City of Bloomington and will communicate any changes that may affect our customers.
Additional details from the City can be found in this news article here.
We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and commitment to responsible water use.
