Recent Water Taste and Odor Concerns

BTPWD is a purchase system that buys water from the City of Bloomington to redistribute. The City of Bloomington has two main water sources they use for treated water, Lake Bloomington and Lake Evergreen. The water from these two sources is pumped from the lakes to their treatment plant, usually as a blend. Recently however, the amount of water from each source has been adjusted to balance the volume of water in each lake.

This adjustment has resulted in more water being pulled from Lake Evergreen which tends to have more pronounced taste and odor. Even though the taste and odor can be perceived as aesthetically unpleasant, the water meets all quality requirements and is safe for human consumption.
