In November of 2023, the Bloomington City Council voted to increase their water rates. The City’s rates will increase by 33% each May for the next three years. Then, in May of 2027 and going forward, the City’s water rates will increase based on the Consumer Price Index for Water, Sewer, and Trash Collection.

Because BTPWD purchases its water from the City of Bloomington, we are subject to these rate increases as well. To continue to serve our customers and maintain our assets, BTPWD’s Board of Trustees voted to increase rates to maintain our current operating margin.

Beginning with the May 2024 billing, BTPWD’s minimum bill, which covers the first 1500 gallons of water, will increase to $25.50 (an increase of 11.35%). After the first 1500 gallons, the rate will be $12.00 per 1000 gallons (an increase of 17.6%)
