May 20, 2025
UPDATE 1:19PM (5/22/2025): BOIL ORDER LIFTED - Sample results from the lab have confirmed that the water is safe. The boil order that was in effect for customers in Apollo Acres, Kings Mill and along Jolly Lake Road has been lifted. You may resume normal use of your water. Thank you for you patience and understanding.
UPDATE 9:35AM (5/22/2025): The boil order is still in effect for those customers who lost water service on Tuesday. This includes those in Apollo Acres and Kings Mill Subdivisions as well as those customers north of Hardesty Run and Mill Creek Road along Jolly Lake Road. Water used for cooking should be boiled for 5 minutes before use.
Water samples after repairs were made have been delivered to the lab and we are waiting on results. This notice will be updated when more information is available.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
UPDATE 8:20pm: Crews have completed repairs to the water main break. Service should be resuming as pressure builds in the distribution system. Pressure will fluctuate however as crews flush hydrants to remove trapped air and push fresh water to impacted areas.
All customers who were without water, beginning north of Hardesty Run on Jolly Lake Road including all of Apollo Acres and Kings Mill Subdivisions, are under a BOIL ORDER until further notice. This is required so samples can be taken to a lab and confirmed safe.

UPDATE 4:37pm: Crews have located the break and have begun excavation to repair. Boil order signs are being placed at intersections of impacted customers. The phone number on these signs is incorrect. We apologize for this oversight as we have updated our phone system since these signs were made. This news article will be updated first as information is obtained. Any questions needing a phone call can be directed to Micah Stickling at 309-827-2893 x102.
At approximately 2pm today (5/20/2025) a fiber optic boring company struck a 6-inch water main along Jolly Lake Road (N 900 East Road) north of Hardesty Run and Mill Creek Road. This break caused a water disruption to all customers in the Apollo Acres and Kings Mill subdivisions as well as some customers along Jolly Lake Road.
An isolation valve at the intersection of Hardesty Run and Jolly Lake Road has been closed to prevent loss of pressure to the rest of the distribution system. Crews are in route to the break to begin repairs.
Customers who have lost water pressure will be under a boil order when service is restored. Boil all water used for cooking for 5 minutes. This boil order will be in effect until futher notice while samples are taken to a certified lab to ensure water is safe for consumption.
This news article will be updated as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to repair our system as quickly as possible.
