UPDATE: 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 10
The City of Bloomington completed the first repair of a valve and encountered a second valve that needs to be repaired.
Their estimated time of completion is 5:30 – 6:00 p.m. tonight. That is not a guarantee.
You may have times when you can get a little water and the pressure will be low.
You will know when you have water – when you turn on the faucet and have full water service.
Once the water is on you will be under a boil order.
Plan for that boil order to be in effect through the weekend. Hopefully, it can be lifted sooner, but no guarantees. Water samples have to be taken to a lab and tested and the all clear given by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency before a boil order can be lifted.

We will update – as we have updates!
Our Crestwicke water distribution area is fed from the City of Bloomington by a single water main. We were notified by the City today (9/9/2026) that they need to shut their supply to us down to perform maintenance on a broken valve. This will interrupt water service for all of our Crestwicke area customers.
The outage will begin at approximately 9am tomorrow (9/10/2026) and is estimated to be 2 - 4 hours. When water service resumes all customers in our Crestwicke area including Hunter's Knoll, Gabriel Hills, and Windgate subdivisions will be under a BOIL ORDER until further notice. Water used for cooking or drinking should be boiled for 5 minutes before use. This is for your safety and is required by the IEPA when pressure falls below 20 psi.
After water service resumes we will need to take samples from throughout the area and transport them to a certified lab to confirm the water is safe before lifting the boil order.
Boil order signs will be distributed to the impacted area. This is to try and reach those who have not subscribed to these website alerts.
This news article will be updated as more or changing information becomes available. For any further questions the District's office phone number is 309-827-2893, option1 for customer service. We will return calls as we are able.
